The ginormous music festival known as South by Southwest has descended upon the fair city of Austin, Texas and I have been busy busy busy. Between hosting visiting songwriter pals John Craigie and Kyle Reid, catching incredible shows of friends Raina Rose, Shawnee Kilgore, Parker Millsap, Phoebe Hunt, Ali Holder, and Steve Poltz (WOW!) and playing shows myself at the airport, Whole Foods, and downtown things are nutty. And so much fun. I've danced. I've sang. I've folkin' thrashed and tried to river dance in the wrong shoes. I've drank a little but not too much of the free-flowing booze. And I saw a woman allow Willie Nelson's big white horse suck on her hand for far too long. Yes. You heard me right. Today I played at Whole Foods (aka party central.) There is a huge rooftop party happening with an insane line up of artists all day long. I escaped the madness and now I'm heading to a craft cocktail bar called Whislers to play tunes with my gal pal Kit Nelson. See you there Austin friends!

So I got to the airport Wednesday afternoon and while getting my boots shined I heard this incredible sound coming from further down the terminal...I absolutely had to check it out, the closer I got the better it got! Very nice! I am so glad I was prompted to ask if you had any CD's. Unfortunately I wasn't able to give it a listen until I got back in town this morning...note to self... never ever leave your CD drive at home again! It's wonderful! I will be looking for more of your wonderful music! And yes that is a nice hat ;) Leave a Reply. |
